Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Butcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production, meat cutting, and food handling, with a strong focus on food safety and customer service. This role involves preparing high-quality cuts of meat, packaging products, and maintaining cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment. The Meat Butcher will play a vital role in ensuring our customers receive fresh, expertly prepared meat products while adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat according to specified standards and customer preferences
  • Package meat products securely for retail display or wholesale distribution
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and proper storage of meat products
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering questions about meat cuts and cooking tips when needed
  • Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure product quality
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals efficiently and accurately

Skills

  • Proven experience in food production, especially meat cutting and food preparation
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in meat butchering techniques
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
  • Experience with packaging meats for retail or wholesale purposes
  • Excellent customer service skills to assist customers effectively
  • Background in kitchen or restaurant environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with the food industry standards for hygiene and sanitation
  • Culinary experience or previous work in a culinary setting is a plus
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery
  • Cut, bone, or grind pieces of meat
  • Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature
  • Weigh, wrap, and display cuts of meat
  • Cut or prepare meats to specification or customer's orders
  • Keep inventory of meat sales and order meat supplies
  • Sharpen and adjust cutting equipment

Job Type: Full-time
