Job Summary

Under direction of the Chief Operating Officer, the Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations and performance of assigned branch location. This includes driving business growth, ensuring excellent customer service, managing a team of employees, and maintaining a high level of operational efficiency. The Branch Manager plays a critical role in achieving sales targets, fostering customer relationships, and promoting a positive work environment. This collective effort aims to enhance overall work performance and contribute to the company's long-term vision. 

Essential Functions

  • Embody the ARG Industrial Core Values of authenticity, taking ownership, being helpful and collaborative, having a desire to evolve and elevate, and exhibiting grit.
  • Lead and supervise branch employees, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their success.
  • In coordination with Director of Sales, implement strategies to achieve sales targets and drive business growth.
  • Conduct weekly collaborative sessions with Outsides Sales, Inside Sales, and Field Support Specialist teams to assess the opportunity pipeline, oversight of new prospects, facilitate monthly closure of opportunities, drive progression through coordinated efforts, and ensure follow up on weekly assigned actions.
  • Conduct monthly customer sales reviews with Outside Sales, analyzing DDI's variance report to identify growth drivers and reasons for decline among customers.
  • In coordination with Director of Sales, ensure consistent updates of salesperson accounts in DDI, aligning with territory focus and company strategy by adding or removing accounts as needed.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, finance, human resources, marketing, etc., to align strategies and achieve common goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales, transactions, and inventory to facilitate reporting and decision-making processes.
  • Exercise budgetary oversight and implement efficient cost control measures.
  • Prepare and present reports, performance metrics, and financial data to senior management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with Assistant Manager and offer constructive feedback to employees to drive productivity and professional development.
  • Develops and maintains good customer relations, addressing complaints or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding of new employees as needed.
  • Ensure the branch premises are well-maintained, safe, and comply with health and safety standards.
  • Represent the company in community events, industry conferences, and networking opportunities to promote brand awareness and business growth.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market conditions, and technological advancements to drive innovation and stay ahead of the competition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to transfer between positions of standing and sitting throughout the workday.
  • Ability to operate computer systems and other standard office equipment.
  • Occasionally climb stairs.
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying objects (up to 20 pounds).
  • Working in quiet to moderately noisy environments, normal for office spaces within warehouse environments.
  • Occasional travel to attend meetings and training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft software applications, CRM systems, and inventory management tools.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and industrial hose products, applications.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of associated products related to the industry.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and manage priorities.
  • Proven track record of analyzing complex problems, developing creative solutions, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and employees within all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and foster a positive work environment to achieve location and organizational goals.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing trends, market conditions, and customer demands.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and develop professionally.

Education

Post-secondary courses in business administration, management, or a related discipline are preferred; however, equivalent professional experience meeting the required standards for managerial role will also meet educational requirements.

Experience

3 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role within an industrial (or related) field.
