Giving you the peace of mind you deserve to go out and make the world a better placePurposeThe ERP Platform Owner – D365 (Solution Architect) serves as Delta Star's primary steward for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) and other D365 platforms. This role protects the integrity, performance, and compliance of Delta Star's ERP ecosystem—ensuring every system change is safe, documented, and value-driven.Working as the technical and functional bridge between business process owners and development teams, this leader defines the D365 architecture, enforces best-practice design principles, and manages Microsoft's One-Version update cadence to ensure ongoing operational stability. The position directly impacts Finance, Supply Chain, Projects, and Manufacturing outcomes by ensuring reliable, auditable, and efficient system operation.Main ResponsibilitiesPlatform Stewardship & GovernanceOwn the overall architecture, configuration, and roadmap for Dynamics 365 F&O and CE, including key third-party extensions.Maintain a stable, supportable environment by enforcing "configure > extend > customize" design principles.Manage Microsoft's monthly and semiannual update cycles; coordinate regression testing and cutover plans to minimize disruption.Ensure adherence to licensing, security, and compliance standards including SOX / ITGC.Serve as change-approver for all ERP releases and integrations, verifying readiness, rollback, and documentation.Functional Alignment & DeliveryPartner with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations leaders to translate process requirements into safe, scalable D365 solutions.Review and sign off on solution designs, data mappings, and extensions prepared by internal developers or partners.Define and maintain master data standards and ownership models to ensure consistency across F&O, CE, and Dataverse.Coordinate regression testing and UAT, ensuring test evidence meets audit expectations.Support continuous improvement projects, capturing lessons learned and optimizing reuse of components.Technical Architecture & IntegrationOversee integrations between D365 and peripheral systems (Dayforce, Jira, fleet tools, PLM, etc.) ensuring reliability and data integrity.Design and maintain data flows between D365 and the enterprise data platform (Power BI / Fabric / Dataverse).Collaborate with the Integration and Data teams to maintain canonical data models and APIs.Evaluate upcoming Microsoft features, feature flags, and roadmap items for business applicability.Security & ComplianceAdminister security roles and duties segregation within D365; coordinate periodic reviews and remediation of conflicts.Maintain audit trails for access, configuration, and code promotion activities.Partner with Cybersecurity to ensure encryption, logging, and monitoring meet company standards.Prepare documentation for auditors on change control, access, and segregation of duties.Leadership & CollaborationProvide functional leadership to Product Owners and business analysts supporting Finance and Supply Chain.Guide external implementation or support partners; ensure deliverables meet internal quality and knowledge-transfer expectations.Present quarterly ERP health metrics—stability, release success rate, and open defects—to IT leadership.Education & Work ExperiencePreferred bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or related discipline.8 + years of progressive ERP experience including at least 3 years as a D365 Solution Architect or Platform Owner.Hands-on background in ERP implementations or upgrades within manufacturing or industrial environments.Proven ability to manage One-Version updates, regression testing, and change-control processes in regulated settings.Strong knowledge of Finance, Projects, Supply Chain, and Production modules.Familiarity with Power Platform, Dataverse, and Azure DevOps for build and release management.Experience leading mixed teams (internal, partner, and offshore) through structured SDLC cycles.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesDeep understanding of Dynamics 365 F&O / CE architecture, data entities, extensions, security, and performance tuning.Working knowledge of related Microsoft technologies: Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure DevOps, M365, Entra ID.Demonstrated capability to evaluate and implement One-Version updates with minimal business impact.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across functional and technical domains.Excellent communication skills—able to explain system trade-offs and ROI to non-technical stakeholders.Proven ability to design and document repeatable regression and change-management processes.Adept at balancing compliance (SOX / ITGC) with delivery speed and user enablement.Builds trust across IT, Finance, and Operations through collaborative mentoring.Proficient in Change Management best practices.Experience with Bluestar or similar PLM tools a plus.Azure Solutions Architect or equivalent preferred.SAFe knowledge or certification preferred.Travel RequirementsLight Travel anticipated ~ 15%Work Environment and Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
