DescriptionJob Summary: Coherent's Integrated Circuit team designs & develops ASICs for fiber optic communications and other applications for over 25 years. The team is looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven Test Engineer to develop characterization and production test solutions on the Advantest 93K SOC tester. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of ASICs through comprehensive testing and validation processesPrimary Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop production, qualification and characterization test programs for Advantest 93k testerOwn development process from design kick-off to production releaseInterface with cross-functional Design and DFT teams to develop and implement test plansAssist with automation of test pattern development and conversionDesign and debug the required device interface boards (DIB), probe cards and test program used for device characterization, qualification and productionDevelop new test techniques to improve test efficiency and reduce cost of testDebug design and process related yield and performance problemsOptimize test time and yield of Final Test (FT) Program and/or Electrical Wafer Sort Test Program (EWS)Work with cross functional engineering teams in failure analysis and defining corrective actionsProvide lifetime support for test program enhancements as needed to ensure high quality and cost-effective manufacturing throughputEducation & ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-driven, demonstrating ownership and initiativeSkillsWorking knowledge of basic analog and digital circuitsPCB design and analysis – experience with high-frequency/RF design & analysis is highly desirableStrong programming background (C++, Java and Python)Conduct analysis of data statistics and test problems seen on the production test floorExperience with Advantest 93k testerExperience testing high-speed datacom integrated circuits (TIAs, laser drivers, CDRs is highly desirableWorking Conditions40-hour work week, hybrid work, (min 3 days on-site) is an option. Position requires the candidate to develop and debug at the local OSAT  as necessary.May require occasional off-site meetings or travel.Interaction with team members and external contacts is a regular part of the jobPhysical RequirementsAble to move light equipment and tooling (
