Job Summary:

The Bartender is responsible for preparing, mixing, and serving cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with Kaluz's standards. This role combines technical knowledge of mixology with refined hospitality to create an exceptional bar experience. Bartenders ensure consistency in recipes, maintain a clean and organized bar, and contribute to an upscale and welcoming environment for guests.

Job Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation & Service

•    Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Kaluz's recipes and standards.

•    Provide personalized recommendations and upsell premium selections to enhance the guest experience.

•    Ensure all beverages meet presentation, portioning, and quality standards.

•    Serve food items to guests seated at the bar when required.

Bar Operations

•    Set up, stock, and maintain the bar before, during, and after shifts.

•    Monitor inventory of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and garnishes.

•    Follow proper pouring, measuring, and waste control practices to minimize costs.

•    Maintain bar cleanliness and comply with all sanitation and safety regulations.

Guest Experience & Hospitality

•    Greet and engage with bar guests in a warm, professional manner.

•    Anticipate guest needs and respond quickly to requests.

•    Provide responsible alcohol service in compliance with all laws and company policies.

•    Build rapport with guests to encourage repeat visits and loyalty.

Teamwork & Support

•    Communicate effectively with servers, runners, and BOH staff to ensure seamless service.

•    Assist with restocking and preparation tasks during peak periods.

•    Support the FOH team by helping in other areas as needed.

•    Uphold Kaluz's brand standards of refinement, hospitality, and professionalism.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications, Education, & Experience:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility successfully. This person must present a neat appearance and have a warm, cheerful personality. Tact and good judgment are especially beneficial characteristics. This person must also possess the knowledge, skill, and ability to carry out the job responsibilities. •    2+ years of bartending experience in upscale or high-volume dining preferred.

•    Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and mixology techniques.

•    Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•    Ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure situations.

•    Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands:

•    Must be able to stand and work behind the bar for extended periods.

•    Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 30 pounds (cases, kegs, bar supplies).

•    Ability to move quickly and safely in a fast-paced environment.
