Materials Purchasing Coordinator
Do you love bringing order to chaos? Does seeing a project through from start to finish energize you? Are you ready to transition out of sales into a career with steady income and steady hours? If you're highly organized, detail-oriented, and excited by the idea of joining a growing company and shaping a newly created role, this could be your perfect fit. We are ideally thinking of this as an in-person full-time job. However, if you live remotely but have significant window treatment experience, please apply, and let's talk.
About Us
Drapery Street is an award-winning window treatment design firm and Hunter Douglas dealer. We specialize in high-end blinds, shades, and drapes for residential and commercial projects, helping homeowners, designers, and builders navigate the world of custom window treatments with confidence and make design decisions that last.
At Drapery Street, we're all about trust, clear communication, and owning what we say. We believe in being lifelong learners, both in business and in life. That means asking questions, trying new things, and always improving. We're honest, reliable, and committed to our standard: excellence.
We take our work seriously, but we have fun doing it. We lift while we climb, help each other out, share wins, and solve problems together.
We're building something different around here. If you're someone who takes ownership, enjoys learning, and wants to be part of a team that's growing together, we'd love to meet you.
The Role
As our Materials Purchasing Coordinator, you'll be the point person ensuring customer projects run smoothly from the first order to final installation. You'll work closely with our Operations Manager, vendors, designers, and clients to keep projects on track, and flex your problem-solving skills by identifying challenges early and keeping communication clear and solutions-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and expectations are met.
- Partner with vendors, installers, and clients to coordinate timelines and resolve challenges.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to maintain the Drapery Street standard of excellence.
- Keep projects organized through strong communication, documentation, and follow-through.
- Visit job sites as needed (reliable transportation required).
- Assist with financial management, reporting, and metrics tracking.
The Ideal Candidate
- You find joy in organization, details, and process improvement.
- You're curious, growth-minded, and always looking to learn something new.
- You communicate clearly and confidently with clients and colleagues.
- You thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with project management tools or reading blueprints is a plus, but not required.
- Window treatment experience preferred but not mandatory
Why Join Drapery Street
- Competitive pay: $60,000–$85,000 per year, based on experience
- Health care benefits, IRA matching, short-term disability coverage, and paid vacation
- Monday–Friday schedule (8 am–4 pm) with evenings and weekends free
