Patient Registrar - Brooklyn Medical Group - Float

Make a lasting impression on patients at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Brooklyn as a Patient Registrar. Register patients for a variety of procedures and appointments, and feel the pride of going above and beyond to help others. In this role, you will obtain demographic details and insurance information, and ensure proper scheduling. You will record patient history while obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients. Most importantly, you will be the calm and reassuring presence patients need as they navigate their hospital experience.
This is a full time (37.5 hour- weekly schedule) day position. This position will require for your to float to other locations. Schedule will vary Monday-Friday, 8AM -6 PM. Some Saturdays will be required as well. You will be required to cover all NYPMG-Brooklyn practice locations as needed
Preferred Criteria:
- Knowledge of medical procedures, routines, regulations and medical terminology.
- Experience working in a busy healthcare environment
- Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4, health insurance benefits/requirements.
- EPIC
Required Criteria:
- 1+ year of clerical experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED
- Effective communication skills verbal and written.
- Superior Customer Service skills.
- Energetic, approachable individual with a desire to put patients first.
- Must be detailed oriented, able to problem solve and work independently.
- Ability to multi-task and perform various registration duties efficiently.

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
