San Francisco, California, United States Kapwing Full time $190,000 - $205,000 per year
Kapwing is building the next generation of modern creators tools to enable everyone to share their story online. Our mission is to make content creation fast, accessible, and collaborative. Kapwing has two products: - Kai: A prompt-first AI design companion that helps creators bring visual ideas to life. Instead of learning complex design software, users can chat with Kai to explore, edit, and refine designs instantly in the browser. Launching in Fall 2025, Kai leverages the best LLMs and generative models to empower users to ideate, edit, and generate images, videos, and audio. - Kapwing Studio: An online video editor that is both powerful and easy to use. Millions of creators every month choose Kapwing to tell their story and bring their ideas to life.
Kapwing turns video editing, traditionally a heavyweight, time consuming workflow, into a joyful, collaborative experience. We believe that we can use technology to augment the video editing and content creation experience, and we've already started on this path with a wide array of templates, AI applications, and new pipelines for combining tooling with the best AI models.
Join us on our journey to democratize creative tools and invent the future stack of video creation.
We're hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of Kapwing's AI-powered generative media experiences.
This role is at the center of our AI investment with our new product Kai — combining product vision, execution, and commercial ownership with our text to media workflows. You'll define how modern creators leverage the latest generative models in an agentic product experience, while also defining Kapwing's long term strategy for determining the best models to leverage for different creative workflows at scale.  Responsibilities
  • Define end-to-end agentic experiences, enabling creators to chat to generate their envisioned stories
  • Lead the evolution of Kapwing's prompt to media workflows, evolving the product's ability to create complex videos
  • Own the strategy and execution for Kapwing's internal system for model selection for different use cases based on internal benchmarks and live usage patterns
  • Partner with Design and Engineering to ship world-class, AI-native product experiences
  • Collaborate closely with Content, Sales, and Customer Success to launch and scale your product in the market
  • Drive adoption, collect quantitative and qualitative feedback, iterate on key workflows
  • Align cross-functional stakeholders and executives around your product strategy and roadmap
  • Evangelize newest trends, and best practices of building AI products while staying up to date with industry trends, competition, and best practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in AI, machine learning, or data-centric product areas and experience shipping consumer or product led growth products
  • Strong product sense and the ability to turn ambiguous customer problems into prioritized solutions
  • Strong UX and design skills. Loves delightful, polished experiences. Keen eye for great visual design. Comfortable creating low-fidelity mocks and sketches and critiquing UX proposals
  • Strong writer and communicator. Can quickly write up documentation, roadmaps, presentations, and PRDs. Can bring teams together around articulated vision and strategy.
  • Decisive. Can make decisions quickly and defend their reasoning. Leverages data and analytics to make decisions when needed.
  • Entrepreneurial. Curious and passionate about startups. Has built things from scratch, loves 0 to 1 product development.
  • Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate)
  • Work authorization in the USA
Preferred Qualities or Skills
  • Product experience for a web-based SaaS product, consumer productivity tool, or creator tool
  • Bonus for a product designed for marketers or creators
  • Experience and/or degree in software engineering: Can review code, write automated tests, and dig deeply into new commits
  • Passionate about video storytelling, ideally a video creator themselves
  • Management experience
$190,000 - $205,000 a year This range covers base salary. Product Managers also receive equity in our growing company. We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
