Position Overview:

The Inside Sales Representative is a critical role designed to generate new business opportunities and support our regional sales force. This position focuses on proactive outreach, lead generation, and customer engagement to drive our sales pipeline. The ideal candidate is a persistent, communicative, and organized professional who excels at initiating conversations, identifying needs, and managing detailed customer information.

Key Responsibilities:

· Execute outbound cold calling campaigns to various markets to introduce American Signal, gather market insights, and maximize brand awareness.

· Generate qualified leads for Regional Sales Representatives through a structured, question-based outreach process.

· Conduct targeted outreach to key decision-makers, including county directors and municipal officials, based on researched information.

· Meticulously update and manage tracking spreadsheets to document customer needs, existing equipment, and follow-up timelines.

· Maintain accurate records of all communications and promptly hand off generated leads to the appropriate Regional Rep for follow-up.

· Perform email outreach and manage follow-ups on incoming sales lead inquiries.

· Identify and qualify potential customer needs and relay detailed information to regional sales teams.

· Ensure all activities, leads, and customer interactions are accurately logged and managed within the company CRM system.

· Collaborate directly with Regional Sales Representatives to develop and optimize the lead generation and follow-up workflow.

· Manage and engage the existing customer database through regular outreach to ensure customer satisfaction and identify additional service opportunities.

· Provide marketing updates, product details, and company information to both new prospects and existing customers.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

· Proven experience in inside sales, telemarketing, lead generation, or a similar role.

· Exceptional phone presence and verbal communication skills with the ability to conduct cold calls confidently.

· Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail for managing databases, spreadsheets, and CRM entries.

· Ability to follow a structured process while adapting conversations to prospect responses.

· Basic proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite (particularly Excel/Sheets).

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a distributed sales team.

· Excellent listening and needs-assessment skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience in B2B sales, particularly within government, municipal, or public safety sectors.

· Familiarity with a scripted or guided sales development process.

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
