Responsibilities
Our Seed-Responsible AI team is dedicated to building a technology center to provide technical support for all ByteDance products from the perspective of making AI models responsible, trustworthy, and aligned with human values. We are looking for research scientist interns who have solid technical skills while passionate about pursuing excellence in responsible AI and related areas.

Responsibilities:

• Research and development of technologies on responsible AI, particularly with a focus on large language models, including but not limited to safety, reasoning, alignment, privacy, robustness;
• Perform research on responsible AI and collaborate with experts from both academia and industry;
• Design and perform theoretical analysis of AI algorithms.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

• Researchers or PhD students in Machine Learning and other related fields;
• In-depth understanding of machine learning with rich experiences in relevant fields;
• Background in large language models, especially post-training or alignment, is preferable;
• Familiar with at least one popular machine learning framework (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow, JAX etc);
• Good at communications and prioritizing teamwork;
• Solid mathematical background and coding ability;
• Publication at the top conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, FAccT, AAAI, CVPR, ICCV, ACL, WWW etc) is a big plus;

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Hourly) - Campus Intern

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $60- $60.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
