The Role's MissionAs Director of Sales at GatherUp, you'll build and lead a high-performing sales and account management organization in a fast-moving MarTech environment. Reporting to the CEO, you'll own the strategy and execution that drives new customer revenue growth.
You'll lead a team of front-line sellers through a high-velocity sales motion. Your role is to establish a clear go-to-market strategy, maintain robust pipeline coverage, and implement proven sales processes that scale. Beyond managing the team, you'll serve as a coach, demonstrating what great looks like at all times.
You'll collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, and Engineering leaders as a member of the executive team, shaping company goals, strategy, and vision. This role is designed for someone who thrives leading teams, driving execution, and building sustainable revenue engines.
What You'll Do- Oversee the full high-velocity sales motion, from lead generation through close
- Set clear performance standards and establish a tight operating rhythm
- Provide hands-on support for large and/or complex sales opportunities
- Implement a repeatable sales playbook and best practices each step of the process
- Attract, hire, train and retain top sales talent
- Conduct regular weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts using both bottoms-up and tops-down methodologies
- Serve as a company leader, participating in company goals setting and strategy
- Establish a deep understanding of our products, value propositions, competitors, and market
- You consistently lead your team to achieve and exceed bookings targets
- Your team has sufficient high-quality selling opportunities to hit their number
- You're the best salesperson on the team, demonstrating execution excellence
- The sales playbook drives improvements in conversion rates and deal velocity
- Your team is inspired, accountable, and consistently developing their skills
- Pipeline health and forecast accuracy are strong and predictable
- You provide strategic insight that shapes company direction
- Proven track record of winning
- 2+ years of experience managing a sales team that consistently achieved quota
- 3+ years as an individual contributor consistently achieving quota
- Track record of hiring and scaling teams of Account Executives
- Demonstrated experience in product-led or SMB sales motions with deals under $1K MRR
- Comfort operating in a high-velocity "demo to close" sales environment
- Practitioner of SPICED or other structured sales methodology
- Passionate about investing in your team's individual career growth and provide quality feedback
- Maintain a relentlessly positive attitude and inspire others to do the same
- Execution-oriented with high GSD quotient, maintain focus on priorities, and balances planning with tactical wins and speed to market
- Experience selling marketing technology, reputation management, growth, or customer experience software is a plus
- Proficient in Salesforce, HubSpot, and other modern sales tools (e.g. Chilipiper, Fathom, etc.)
- You're selling a product that directly impacts leads, revenue, and growth
- You'll work with real daily demand, not cold lists
- You'll be part of a company building the trust layer for local commerce in an AI-first world

- Competitive Compensation: $160k – $180k on-target earnings (base salary + commission based on team attainment)
