Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, IFRS, and SOX compliance. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will manage various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting, while providing insights through financial analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP a
  • Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy in account analysis.
  • Manage cash flow through effective cash management practices.
  • Prepare regulatory reports as required by governmental agencies.
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes to support financial planning.
  • Perform technical accounting tasks related to complex transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits to provide necessary documentation.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, financial concepts, and corporate accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis.
  • Experience with non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent understanding of general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial data for decision-making purposes.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using financial software for account reconciliation and management tasks.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting techniques and cash flow forecasting.
