What You'll Do

  • Design and engineer moderately complex tooling solutions—including molds, jigs, and fixtures—based on product specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and conduct Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments.
  • Support validation activities for molding designs and troubleshoot tooling-related issues.
  • Implement cost-effective tool design improvements and modifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on tool qualification, sampling, and final part approval.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular status updates as required.
  • Prepare and manage records related to tool room equipment and tooling documentation.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with
    8+ years
    in thermoplastics, thermosets, injection molding, mold flow analysis, and tooling validation.
  • Strong experience with troubleshooting and resolving tooling issues; deep understanding of molding processes.
  • Proficiency with mechanical and electrical tools, including taps/dies, alignment tools, measuring instruments, and microscopes.
  • Hands-on experience with electronic assembly (color codes, components, schematics), PCB operations, and testing tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, cable/harness testing, and component testing.
  • Prior experience working with
    medical device products
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    injection molding machines with hot runner systems
    .
  • Ability to design, develop, and optimize molds and tooling for manufacturing processes.
  • Skilled in mold design approval and mold qualification using
    FIR/FRP
    per standard procedures.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in
    ProE/Creo with Windchill
    ,
    SolidWorks
    , and
    MS Office
    .
  • Basic injection molding machine operation skills are a plus.
