Export Coordinator

A global freight forwarding company is seeking an Export Coordinator to join their ocean and air exports team at their JFK office in Jamaica, NY area. Ideal candidates will have 1~3 years of working experience in Ocean and/or Air freight forwarding exports and excellent communication skills with proficient computer skills.
*This is an onsite, full-time, direct-hire position with benefits package.
Export Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Monitor export shipment statuses and process with EYZ Cargo/CMS /FM3000 system
- Monitor the consolidation of export shipments
- Prepare export documentation and pre-advice to overseas offices.
- File and record documentation for in computer systems and hardcopy filing system.
- Collaborate with billing teams and customer service teams on shipment-related details and payment.
- Assist with general export team operations including filings and covering active shipments while agents are out of office.
- Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Export Coordinator Ideal Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years of operations experience with a licensed freight forwarder
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with CargoWise or other shipment management software is a big plus
- East Asian language fluency (e.g. Chinese, Korean, Japanese, etc.) is an asset but not required
- Strong interpersonal skills with practiced customer communication skills
- Has strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Physical Requirements: during the course of your duties, you may be required to sit for prolonged periods, intermittently stand and walk, use hands to handle paperwork and interact with a computer, use near/distance/color/peripheral vision and hearing
