Job Description

Attendants are responsible to make sure that the buildings are opened and closed in a timely manner and to ensure an enjoyable atmosphere for citizens to skate and/or play hockey. They also assist the Public Works department in clearing of snow and/or ice on walkways and sidewalks.

Locations for each city include:

Minnetonka - Boulder Creek, Covington, Glen Lake, Gro Tonka, Meadow, McKenzie and Spring Hill.

Hopkins - Burnes, Central, Harley Hopkins, Interlachen, Oakes and Valley.

The position averages 10-25 hours per week, including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays from December 20 – February 16. More hours are available for interested staff.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • A commitment to and belief in the organization's shared values
  • Minnetonka and Hopkins sites will include traveling between multiple warming houses per shift. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license is required.
  • Opening and closing the facility
  • Enforcing park rules and regulations
  • Maintaining order and a clean environment at the facility
  • Keep the warming house and skating areas clean and free of debris
  • Shovel all walkways and entryways to the building, keeping them clear of snow and ice
  • Monitor reserved usage of rinks for team practices, department programs and community activities
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A commitment to and belief in the organizations shared values
  • Minimum age of 16 years old
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to communicate effectively with the public
  • Able to maintain order and appropriate security
  • Able to work various shifts which may include: weekdays, weekday evenings, weekends and holidays

  • Ability to work entire season December 20 - February 16
