Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care for all residents. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized care such as Alzheimer's or memory care. The Nursing Assistant will play a vital role in supporting patient well-being, ensuring safety, and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering exceptional care.

Duties

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
  • Support patients with medication administration under supervision and ensure proper documentation.
  • Provide specialized care for patients with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or behavioral health needs, including memory care and dementia-specific interventions.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care and wound management to prevent infection.
  • Assist with patient transfers and positioning using appropriate techniques to ensure safety.
  • Document patient information accurately in medical records while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Support infection control protocols and uphold safety standards across all patient interactions.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to emergency procedures like Basic Life Support (BLS) and other certifications relevant to acute or critical care environments.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent credential required.
  • Experience working in diverse healthcare settings such as hospitals (ICU, Emergency Medicine), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques essential for delivering safe patient care.
  • Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and assist with complex procedures like catheter care or phlebotomy if applicable.
  • Experience caring for patients with special needs such as developmental disabilities or behavioral health conditions is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and compassion for working with vulnerable populations including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality of patient information.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including day shifts; experience in urgent care or post-acute settings is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams committed to excellence in patient service.
