As a Manufacturing Process Specialist III, you will lead the development and management of process plans within our MES, guiding complex production builds. You will translate advanced engineering designs into detailed work instructions, optimize assembly and installation activities, and ensure process plans are synchronized with production schedules. You will collaborate extensively with engineering, quality control, and production teams to ensure continuous improvement and high-quality outcomes.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage clear, concise, and practical work instructions based on engineering designs, utilizing the MES to effectively guide the production build process and ensure accuracy and efficiency on the production floor.
• Determine planned durations and weightings within sequencing of work instructions to enable the production team to effectively track build progress.
• Ensure work instructions are available in alignment with the Production Build Plan.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, quality control, and production teams to incorporate changes and enhancements as the product definition matures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of work instructions to incorporate the latest engineering changes and process improvements.
• Assisting production staff with MES and ensuring they understand and can effectively implement new and updated work instructions.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
• 4+ years of experience in a related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of related experience is required.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering designs with the ability to interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications.
• Proficiency in the creation of work instructions in Manufacturing Execution Systems or through other methods of documentation such as physical travelers.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office product suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in planning and managing aircraft modifications.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or the US Military.
• Experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Operations Management.
• Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
• Good hand/finger dexterity for detailed work.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
• Primarily office-based with potential hybrid work options.
• Travel may be required occasionally (up to 20%).

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $74, $102, Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
