Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across our commercial or institutional spaces. Your energetic approach and commitment to cleanliness will ensure that all areas are hygienic, well-organized, and presentable for staff, visitors, and clients alike. Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Conduct floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and polishing to maintain a pristine appearance.
  • Handle trash removal and recycling duties efficiently to uphold sanitation standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass surfaces, and fixtures to ensure clarity and shine.
  • Assist with light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing supplies, and minor repairs as needed.
  • Support industrial cleaning projects or specialized custodial tasks in high-traffic or sensitive areas.
  • Follow safety protocols during all cleaning activities to prevent accidents or hazards.
  • Keep detailed logs of cleaning schedules and report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Use custodial equipment properly and perform routine inspections of tools and supplies to ensure readiness.
  • Contribute to overall facilities maintenance efforts by supporting porter duties or assisting with minor repairs when required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in janitorial or custodial roles within commercial, industrial, or residential settings is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care procedures including buffing and polishing, and general facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers or industrial vacuums safely and effectively.
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning standards and safety regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting issues clearly.
