Healthy Osprey Ambassador

The position is a minimum of 15 hours per week. Individual can also expect to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Work schedules will be developed around classes and will be assigned based upon the needs of the Department. Must be a currently enrolled UNF Student. Good public speaking skills. Rudimentary knowledge of concepts related to health and wellness (preferred candidates are those who have taken at least 2 health-related courses in the past 2 years or have received documented training in an area of health and wellness in the past 2 years). Must have regular access to email and rudimentary knowledge of computers and computer skills. Responsible for assisting with the campus wide "Healthy Osprey" initiative. Work in conjunction with various target groups across campus in conducting comprehensive training with student leaders about "Healthy Osprey". Assist Coordinator through working with the Health Osprey LLC and Campus Community partners to develop and implement programs and activities that suit LLC participant's holistic health needs and interests. Responsible for conducting regular Outreach activities on campus. These activities include: Regular setting up "Education/promotional" stations across campus and engaging the campus community in Healthy Osprey activities. Participating in many special outreach events such as: Annual Health Fairs, Student Affairs Showcase, Natural High Fair, Great American Smoke Out, World AIDS Day, National Eating Disorder Awareness Week and many other special events. Responsible for actively participating in and sometimes facilitating health education lectures, workshops and curriculum activities with various departments. Must be capable of, prepared to and responsible for researching, developing and implementing Healthy Osprey activities/workshops requested. Individual will become familiar with all areas related to the Department of Health Promotion protocols, policies and procedures. Assist in promoting the image of Healthy Osprey as a healthy campus through publicity, visibility and public relations including: Assist with coordinating the development and implementation of a campus-wide plan promoting UNF as a healthy campus. Assist with normalizing health behaviors and practices at UNF through publicity, visibility, and strategic planning and implementation efforts. Assist various departments in using the Healthy Osprey as a branding enhancement to recruit.
