POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs in depth Facility diagnosis coding via Meditech and 3M Encoder working on Lab specimens for testing. NO CPT, HCPC, or PCS procedure coding will be done. Performs other related functions as required. All work is carried out in accordance with the rules, regulations and coding conventions of the American Hospital Association (Coding Clinic), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

Position Duties And Responsibilities

• Must possess a thorough knowledge of ICD-10-CM Coding.
• Must have RECENT MEDITECH Experience
• Thorough knowledge of Official Coding Guidelines.
• Proficient with Diagnosis Coding and being able to code a large volume of Ancillary Lab Testing on accounts.
• Maintain 95% overall accuracy rate.
• Must hit or exceed productivity of 30 accounts per hour and keep a 95% accuracy rate.
• The coder is responsible for coding chart placed in the queue..
• Abides by the Standards of Ethical Coding as set forth by AHIMA and complies with official coding guidelines.
• Cooperatively accepts other duties as assigned such as helping code ED accounts when needed.
• Must have 2 years current/recent ancillary coding and medical necessity experience.

• Analytical Skills – effective evaluation, synthesis and use of information gathered.
• PC Skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Teams and others as required.

• Remote Workstation – Dual Monitors
• Standard Window PC
• Internet Access with DSL or Cable
• VPN compatibility
• Microsoft Office/Word, Excel, Teams, Power Point

Working Hours Needed

• M – F 8hrs per day, 40hrs a week, Flexible hours PACIFIC Time Zone.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: TBD based on experience but very competitive
