Role Description

We are seeking a
GenAI Security & Governance Specialist
to help design and operationalize enterprise-grade AI governance frameworks across data, models, and platforms. This role will serve as a senior governance and security expert responsible for ensuring that large-scale Generative AI ecosystems operate safely, ethically, and in compliance with evolving global regulations.

You will play a critical role in making enterprise AI programs self-reliant — embedding security, compliance, and governance into every layer of AI and data architecture. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in enterprise AI systems (such as Gemini, Azure OpenAI, or Vertex AI) with a structured, risk-based approach to governance and documentation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish AI Governance Frameworks:
Define and operationalize governance standards for data security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices across Generative AI initiatives.
  • Data Security and Access Architecture:
Design and implement secure data access, storage, and usage protocols for enterprise AI environments.
  • Risk and Compliance Oversight:
Partner with InfoSec, Legal, and Compliance teams to identify, assess, and mitigate AI-related regulatory, security, and ethical risks.
  • Policy and Documentation Management:
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including model usage policies, data lineage tracking, and audit trails to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with AI engineering, product, and data teams to embed governance and security principles throughout model development and deployment.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish ongoing monitoring mechanisms for model performance, data integrity, and compliance posture; communicate insights to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Education and Enablement:
Promote governance maturity across teams by developing playbooks, training materials, and best-practice frameworks.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in data governance, information security, or AI risk management, preferably within complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI and data platforms (e.g., Gemini, Azure OpenAI, Vertex AI, Databricks).
  • Proven experience operationalizing AI governance, model lifecycle management, or responsible AI frameworks.
  • Deep familiarity with global privacy and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, AI Act, etc.).
  • Technical fluency in data architecture, model monitoring, and security tooling; ability to bridge technical and business audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with Legal, InfoSec, and Product teams to align governance initiatives with organizational strategy.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CDMP, or DGSP.
  • Experience in AI ethics, model auditing, or responsible AI implementation.
  • Exceptional analytical, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Being a Mathemagician

  • Understand and embody MathCo's culture and way of working.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability to drive results, striving for excellence.
  • Engage actively and contribute to initiatives that foster company growth.
  • Support diversity and inclusion while valuing different perspectives.
