What You'll Do

As a Senior Estimator, you'll lead estimating efforts for large and complex electrical infrastructure projects—strategically positioning bids, developing relationships with clients, and mentoring junior estimators. You'll play a critical role in shaping project success from concept through award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of bid preparation and cost estimating for complex transmission, substation, and distribution projects.
  • Develop and oversee detailed cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct bid strategy meetings and client presentations.
  • Negotiate with vendors, subcontractors, and partners to achieve the best pricing and terms.
  • Review and approve RFPs, proposals, and scopes of work.
  • Collaborate with leadership on bid strategy, risk assessment, and project execution planning.
  • Mentor and train junior estimating staff, ensuring consistency and quality in all deliverables.
  • Stay informed on market conditions, technology changes, and industry best practices

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of estimating experience in electrical contracting or utility construction.
  • Proven leadership in preparing large-scale bids and managing estimating teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical infrastructure systems, construction means and methods, and project cost analysis.
  • Advanced proficiency with estimating software (Accubid preferred) and Excel-based cost modeling.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
