Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer with a minimum of 4 years of professional tax preparation experience. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in preparing individual and business tax returns, staying up to date with current tax laws, and providing excellent service to clients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and complete federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and/or small businesses.
  • Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with current tax regulations and identify potential tax savings and deductions.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify tax-related issues.
  • Review and verify all documentation for accuracy before submission.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of client information.
  • Stay current with changes in tax legislation, IRS guidelines, and filing deadlines.
  • Assist with IRS or state tax notices and audits as needed.
  • Support the firm during peak tax season with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in tax preparation (individual and/or business returns).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes and filing requirements.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software ( UltraTax,).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet strict deadlines.
  • Certification preferred: EA (Enrolled Agent), CPA, or AFSP Record of Completion (not required but a plus).
