Company Overview:

Aerospace System International is seeking to hire a qualified Mechanical Engineer II position for our Wichita KS location. The Engineer II - Mechanical supports solutions implementation and solves technical problems of limited scope and impact; apply basic engineering and scientific principles. Support project leader as a team member/Leader and gain exposure to working with designers, customers, diverse teaming partners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

  1. Review of Aircraft Interior floorplans, Project Specific Cert Plans, and Compliance Check Lists.

  2. Review aircraft configuration lists and identify all applicable drawings with Mechanical Systems aspects.

  3. Generate a Master List of all applicable drawings that will require review, determine if new means of compliance (MOC1) reports and FAA approvals are required.

  4. Understand Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Safety, and Operational aspects of installations.

  5. Knowledge of FAA Certification, Mechanical Systems FAA regulations.

  6. Ability to draft FAA approvals and

  7. Report Writing, Cross-Functional Coordination.

Responsibilities Included:

  1. Review Type Design / Configuration Management Data Lists.

  2. Review 2D Drawings, interrogate 3D CAD Data, and associated Bill of Material (BOM).

  3. Coordinate requirements AND Resolve design conflicts between different functional teams within Engineering and Manufacturing.

  4. Tasking of Engineering resources (junior staff), which involves identification of work, planning, coordination, tracking, and assisting to completion.

  5. Draft Engineering Reports that include System Descriptions, Analytical Comparisons, and Compliance Statements.

  6. Draft and check FAA (ODA) conformity and approval forms

  7. Routing and approval of documents within the Configuration Management System.

  8. Good communications skills with customers and other team members.

9.Mentor and Training of new team members.

10 Qualified to perform in the role of FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or ODA Unit Member for Mechanical Systems (Chart C-1).

Required Skills:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Associate Degree in drafting, design, Engineering or Technology is required along with 24 months of related experience. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Math's, or Science is preferred.

Pay: $76, $91,661.70 per year
