Position Overview

Praescient Analytics is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support a high-visibility Internal Revenue Service (IRS) modernization initiative focused on Unified Application Programming Interfaces (UAPI) and API-driven data access. This role provides hands-on technical leadership in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and mission-critical applications and APIs supporting federal enterprise systems.

The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer who thrives in complex environments, mentors team members, and collaborates across engineering, data, and AI teams. This position requires U.S. citizenship. The role will be hybrid with work locations in Washington, DC or Lanham, MD.

Key R​​​​esponsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain full-stack web applications and enterprise APIsLead technical design and implementation of scalable, maintainable, and secure systemsDevelop RESTful and GraphQL APIs aligned with IRS and Treasury enterprise standardsCollaborate with data and AI engineers to integrate legacy and modern data sourcesSupport containerized deployments using OpenShift and KubernetesImplement CI/CD pipelines, authentication mechanisms, and cloud-based solutionsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developersEnsure adherence to coding standards, documentation, and agile best practices.

Required Qualifications

At least 8+ years of professional full-stack development experienceProficiency in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue)Strong backend experience using , Python, Java, Spark, or similar technologiesExperience designing and consuming REST and GraphQL APIsWorking knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databasesExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Familiarity with OpenShift, Kubernetes, and DatabricksUS Citizenship and the ability to undergo an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with microservices and container-based architectures (Docker/Kubernetes)Knowledge of DevOps practices and automated testing frameworksExperience with performance optimization, application security, or hybrid web/mobile solutions
