OrthoArizona is the largest private musculoskeletal and specialty medical group in the Southwest, with over 300 providers and 40+ locations across Arizona. We are proud to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care and are expanding into Preventive Cardiology as part of our commitment to integrated, whole-patient health. Our goal is to build a state-of-the-art cardiovascular service line that complements our orthopedic, pain management, and vascular programs—positioning OrthoArizona as a leader in multidisciplinary specialty care.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with experience in Cardiology, Preventive Cardiology, or Internal Medicine to join our new and growing Preventive Cardiology Division. This provider will work in collaboration with our lead Preventive Cardiologist and a multidisciplinary care team to deliver cutting-edge preventive and diagnostic services.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and grow a brand-new program within a well-established, physician-led medical group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision and collaboration of the attending cardiologist.
  • Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular risk assessments, histories, and physical exams.
  • Educate patients on prevention strategies including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and lifestyle modification.
  • Follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., EKG, echocardiograms, stress testing, advanced lipid panels, imaging studies).
  • Assist in developing and implementing care pathways, protocols, and clinical programs for preventive cardiology.
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, vascular specialists, and other members of the OrthoArizona network.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to research, education, or program development as needed.

Qualifications

  • Current Arizona PA or NP license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Certification by NCCPA (PA) or relevant national certifying body (NP).
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Cardiology, Internal Medicine, or related specialty (Preventive Cardiology experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong clinical skills in managing cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-education abilities.
  • Passion for preventive care and innovation in cardiovascular health.

Why Join OrthoArizona?

  • Be part of a fast-growing, physician-led group with a reputation for innovation and excellence.
  • Help pioneer and grow a new Preventive Cardiology Division within a supportive multidisciplinary environment.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, productivity incentives, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Opportunities for leadership, program development, and long-term career growth.
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on delivering best-in-class care to patients.
