PART TIME CUSTODIAN:

• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the church facilities.
• Provides custodial and cleaning services as noted below.
• Responsible for securing spaces during the working shift.
• Maintain a professional attitude and represent BTC and its vision and values to fellow employees and visitors alike.
• Dress appropriately and professionally
• Be responsible, well organized and a detail-oriented self-starter and be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

HOUSEKEEPING DUTIES IN ASSIGNED AREAS

Dusting

• High dusting

• Low dusting

• Floor Care:

• Tile

• Carpet

• Sweep daily or upon use and weekly at minimum

• Damp mop daily or after each use, weekly minimum

• Proper mop and mop bucket care, use and storage

• Stripping and waxing annually

• Buffing as needed

b. Carpet

• Floor prep before vacuuming

• Vacuum and conditioning the carpet

• Spot and stain removal

• Gum and debris removal

• Shampoo with Side by Side or Shampooer

• Vacuum cleaner maintenance and cleaning

• Chemical care

• Familiar with location and use of Safety Data Sheets, (SDS)

• Familiar with proper use of each chemical

• Communicate need for supply

• Only use labeled chemicals and always secure in safe place after use.

• Glass care

• All Mirrors and Windows maintained daily or weekly as per application

• Clean Windows inside and out

• Trash disposal

• Safely remove and deposit trash with in the outdoor 8 yard trash bin

• Safely secure the trash and recycle bins after use.

• Recycle cardboard only

• Bathroom care

• Using safety equipment and procedures

• Proper chemical use and application for disinfecting and cleaning

• Total clean every bathroom every time philosophy

• Restocking of paper goods

• Classroom and common space care

• Using safety equipment and procedures

• Proper chemical use and application for disinfecting, dusting and cleaning

• When needed electrostatic spray disinfection

• Provide room set ups

CUSTODIAL DUTIES

• Follow the assigned work schedule

• Cart Care

• Setup supplies and chemicals according to procedure

• Clean up tools, clothes and supplies

• Stowage of wet materials for proper drying

• Empty store mop buckets after use

• Utilize the color code system for cleaning rags and supplies

• Blue = glass

• Green = common areas

• Red = bathroom and contaminated cleaning

• Rags and mops rinsed end of shift and deposited for washing

• Rags and mops washed in campus washing machine

• Will manage access to all spaces during shift,

• securing closed areas

• opening access for scheduled use

• Securing and double checking exterior doors

• Activate and deactivate security alarms according to schedule.

• Prepare areas for use with set up of tables, chairs, supplies and lighting.

• Clean and sanitize areas after use and restore setup.

• maintain entry ways, hallways and routes used for access.

• Playground

• Will provide access during daylight hours and secure lock

• Will carefully check playground for dangers when opening

• Secures playground at night

• Sweep off all debris from surfacing material

• Maintenance wash equipment with mild soap and water

• Maintains trash throughout the day as needed and when opening.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be able to speak and read English clearly. Prior experience required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma or its equivalent (GED).
• Three years or more experience in Custodian work
• Able to lift 50lb

Hours: Flexibility to design scheduled hours

Sat and Sun. ;Hours 8:00 - 3:00 or 2:00p.m. - 9:00p.m.

Filling in for other positions when not covered possible additional of 250 hours.
