Job Description: Volunteer Snohomish County Youth Chorus Webmaster
Position Summary
This temporary position is for a Webmaster to be responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the Snohomish County Youth Chorus website. Our ideal candidate will display a passion for music education and fostering a positive environment for children.
The Webmaster will ensure the website is a welcoming, informative, and effective resource for parents, singers, and the wider community. The Webmaster maintains the website's content, security, and functionality to promote the chorus' mission and programs. The Webmaster will migrate new website content when completed within the next 3-6 months. Updated content will be maintained within the chorus.
Responsibilities
Website Management & Development
· Update and maintain website content, including news, announcements, calendars, and program information.
· Collaborate with artistic director/conductor to post photos, videos, and news releases.
· Manage the website's security.
· Troubleshoot and resolve website-related issues promptly.
· Ensure the website is mobile-responsive and functions across various browsers and devices.
Registration & Communication
· Manage online registration link for registration quarterly.
· Maintain website contact form.
Strategy & Analytics
· Work with the chorus' leadership to align website content with the organization's brand.
· Maintain an organized inventory of web assets, including passwords and licenses.
Collaboration
· Communicate with the artistic director/conductor to ensure the website content is current and accurate.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
· Familiarity with PHP/HTML/CSS, and basic web standards.
· Experience with website security and maintenance best practices.
· Ability to use FileZilla or comparable FTP program to upload files.
· Access cpanel account to upload files, set up new FTP accounts or emails as needed.
Desirable Attributes
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
· Enthusiastic about music education and dedicated to creating a supportive, positive environment for children.
Commitment
· This is a volunteer position with an estimated time commitment of 2 hours per month.
· This remote role is active throughout the chorus season, with occasional virtual attendance at meetings.
· We request a minimum commitment of six months.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $1.00 per year
