Title: Sr. System Administrator

Location: Durham, NC

Duration: 5 Months with a high possibility of extension

We are seeking skilled a Senior Systems Administrator with deep expertise in Windows Server Operations, VMware, and Azure Administration to join our team onsite in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with River Meadow migration tools and will work closely with application teams to support, maintain, and optimize our client's technology stack.

Key Responsibilities:


• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (versions 2008 through 2025).


• Manage and optimize VMware vSphere infrastructure (version 8.x).


• Perform Azure Administration tasks, including resource provisioning, monitoring, and security management.


• Collaborate directly with application teams to ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability.


• Support server migrations and cloud adoption initiatives, leveraging River Meadow experience.


• Implement and maintain system security protocols, backups, and disaster recovery plans.


• Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.


• Perform occasional travel to client plants across the U.S. for onsite support and projects (most work will be in Durham, NC).

Required Qualifications:


• Experience in Windows Server administration (2008–2025).


• Strong background in VMware vSphere administration (8.x preferred).


• Hands-on experience with Azure Administration in enterprise environments.


• Experience with River Meadow migration tools or similar technologies.


• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.


• Proven ability to work collaboratively with application teams and cross-functional stakeholders.


• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.


• Ability to travel occasionally for onsite support at remote facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Industry certifications such as MCSE, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or Azure Administrator Associate.


• Experience in manufacturing or plant-based IT environments.

Work Environment:


• Onsite role in Durham, NC with occasional travel to plants nationwide.


• Fast-paced, collaborative environment with direct engagement with technical and business teams.
