$ $45.25EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or Instructional Technology with five years' experience analyzing business and performance needs and/or designing and developing learning and performance solutions; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Simulator or Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic experience preferred. Experience with programming languages and relational databases preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures preferred. Experience with relational database preferred. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Certification as Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) preferred. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Designs, plans, and advises on content development technologies, content delivery technologies and content hosting technologies of curricula material. Provides technology support to instructional design team regarding technology for e-learning module development. 2. Develops, communicates, and implements department standards to create content for multiple platforms, accessible from numerous devices (computer, laptop, iPad, smartphone, etc.) 3. Serves as simulator operator by programming, testing, and running scenarios with faculty instructors. 4. Sets up simulation equipment for teaching sessions and maintain/disassemble skills stations and trainers. 5. Operates and uses a variety of simulator technologies and stay abreast of new technologies and procedures. 6. Provides technical support for computer based multimedia systems and their components. 7. Supervises the calibration and maintenance of equipment; confirms equipment failures and arrange to have equipment restored to proper service. Installs software and hardware upgrades and repair the equipment as required and or directed by the manufacturer. Maintains record of repairs. 8. Applies evidence-based principles of instructional design and development to create the structure and establish standards for courses/content delivery items. 9. Analyzes current curriculum delivery tools and create ideas for functional enhancements to better facilitate web-based/rich media content delivery. Communicates ideas to management and systems developers. 10. Supports the online learning management system(s) and software used by educational programs. 11. Researches best practices and identifies potential applications for new and emerging instructional technologies to ensure educational integrity. 12. Performs other related duties incident to the work described herein.
