Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP and IFRS, and will have experience in various accounting environments such as non-profit, governmental, and public accounting. This role will involve overseeing financial reporting, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in financial management and analysis, contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage cash flow through effective cash management practices.
  • Prepare regulatory reports and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Write detailed financial reports that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on financial concepts and performance metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SOX compliance, technical accounting standards, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in cash management practices and financial report writing.
  • Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, forecasting, and financial management.
  • Experience using various accounting software packages; proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
