About TenCate

TenCate is a rapidly growing international company, renowned for innovation and quality in synthetic grass surfaces for sports and landscaping. We push boundaries across the entire value chain - from R&D and manufacturing of yarns, backing, and turf systems to distribution, installation, maintenance, and recycling. As we expand our US footprint, we're seeking a driven US Tax Manager to build and lead our federal and state tax function from the ground up.

The Opportunity

This is a greenfield role - your chance to shape the US tax function, establish best practices, and build a high-performing team. You'll start as a solo contributor, growing the team to three, and report directly to the CFO US and work closely with the Group Tax Director (Netherlands). This role is key in ensuring accurate and timely tax reporting as well as supporting strategic tax initiatives across the Group. You'll be at the heart of TenCate's US growth story, with the autonomy to innovate and the support to succeed.

  • Lead all aspects of US federal and state tax compliance, reporting, and filings for TenCate's US entities.
  • Oversee preparation and timely filing of federal and state income tax returns, quarterly estimated payments, and related documentation.
  • Manage the US tax provision process under ASC 740, including deferred tax calculations, uncertain tax positions, and supporting documentation for audits and statutory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with international tax requirements, including preparation and filing of Forms 5471 and 8858.
  • Oversee calculations and reporting for GILTI, BEAT, and FDII, ensuring compliance with US international tax legislation.
  • Monitor US tax legislative changes and assess their impact on TenCate's operations.
  • Build and develop a US-based tax team (growing from 1 to 3 FTEs), fostering a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and growth-oriented culture.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, accounting) and external advisors to ensure compliance and support business initiatives.
  • Manage tax audits and resolve issues with tax authorities.
  • Drive process improvements and implement best practices for efficiency, accuracy, and control.
  • Support tax planning, strategy, and legal entity rationalization in partnership with the CFO US and Group Tax Director.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years' progressive experience in US federal and state tax within a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
  • Proven ability to manage tax compliance and provision for multi-entity US organizations, including international reporting (5471/8858) and US international tax calculations (GILTI, BEAT, FDII).
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Energetic self-starter with an entrepreneurial growth mindset - comfortable building new processes and teams from scratch.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • High integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of Tax Technology like Onesource, Alteryx is a plus.

Why TenCate?

  • Be the architect of TenCate's US tax function - your work will have a direct impact on our growth and success.
  • Join a company with a global reach and a commitment to innovation.
  • Enjoy autonomy, visibility, and the chance to build and lead a team.
  • Work closely with senior leadership in both the US and Europe.
