Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
This role accelerates business values by supporting the Processing Supervisor in all duties and take charge of department in absence of processing supervisor.
Demonstrates our "True North" attributes: voice of the customer, respect for the individual, no nonsense communication and utilization of facts, servant leadership and has a continuous improvement mindset in every facet of leadership and daily interaction. Leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees and shareholders. Actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Monitor all equipment on a daily basis.
2. Responsible for maintenance and repair on bagging equipment.
3. Assist Plant Engineer as necessary.
4. Conduct preventative maintenance program on all equipment in processing.
5. Help monitor product quantity and quality by reporting any problems to processing supervisor.
6. Keep area safe and report any potential safety hazards.
7. Record keeping of daily production along with cleaning records.
8. Work with Plant Engineer on scheduling of production staff.

10. Make and assume other duties and responsibilities required or assigned by management.

OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires some decision making. Profits may be impacted by failure to keep equipment operating and poor scheduling of processing crew.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Assume supervisory responsibility for processing crew in absence of Plant Engineer.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in processing type environment, some supervisory skills and mechanical aptitude required. Must be able to count and to complete paperwork as needed. Previous forklift driving in warehouse atmosphere required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job requires working in area with fluctuating temperatures; 10° rake bin, ° vault and ° processing area. Standing on feet all day with labor intensive work. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Requires good manual dexterity. Must work in areas with forklifts in operation and around machinery with moving parts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
