Role Overview:

Johnson Controls, a leader in sustainable building technologies and smart solutions, is searching for a skilled Technology Director to join our Oakland team. In this leadership position, you will oversee the execution of technology strategies, manage key projects, and guide a talented team to deliver cutting-edge solutions that drive business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers, IT professionals, and technology experts in Oakland, ensuring the successful implementation of technology solutions aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align technology initiatives with the broader company vision and growth objectives.
  • Manage technology projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Stay on top of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating innovative solutions to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the technology team.
  • Provide mentorship and career development support to team members, helping them achieve professional growth.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless technology integration.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • At least 10 years of experience in senior technology leadership roles, preferably within IT, building systems, or a related industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex technology projects.
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, enterprise systems, and IT infrastructure.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with senior management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience managing and developing teams.
  • Experience in hybrid work environments and proficiency with modern collaboration tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $150,000 – $160,000 annually
  • Annual Bonus: Typically 10-20% of base salary
