Automotive Restoration Assembly Technician/Upholstery Assistant

Muscle Car Restorations, Inc. (MCR) is seeking to hire a full-time Assembly Technician / Upholstery Assistant to work in our Assembly/Upholstery departments. This position is ideal for a skilled technician with strong automotive experience who also possesses upholstery experience and is comfortable assisting in interior fabrication and installation work.

MCR is a high-end restoration shop specializing in full custom restorations and service work on classic American muscle cars, including Chargers, Cudas, Corvettes, Camaros, Mustangs, and more. With over 30 years in the industry, MCR has earned national recognition, top awards at major car shows, and features in leading automotive publications such as Hot Rod, Power Auto Media, Mopar Action, and others. We are one of the largest and most respected restoration companies in the United States.

Primary Responsibilities

The Assembly Technician / Upholstery Assistant position will be responsible for:

• Complete vehicle assembly, service, performance upgrades, diagnostics, repair, final inspection, performance testing, and documentation
• Assisting the Upholstery Department with interior installation including seats, panels, trim, carpeting, headliners, consoles, and interior hardware
• General servicing major automotive and driveline components, including:
• Engine upgrades and accessories
• Carburetors and fuel injection systems
• Drive shafts, differentials, hub assemblies, and HVAC systems
• Vehicle test driving and tuning on the street (valid Driver's License required) and on MCR's in-house chassis dynamometer
• Maintaining accurate work records and documentation

This role requires strong attention to detail, craftsmanship, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• 5 to 10+ years of job-related experience in automotive restoration, assembly, service, and/or repair
• Upholstery and Interior components related installation
• Experience assembling and servicing classic vehicles, including:
• Powertrain and driveline systems
• Suspension, steering, and brakes
• Bodywork/frame alignment and trim
• Automotive electrical and fluid systems
• Experience tuning ignition systems (Holley, FAST, MSD) desired, not required
• General knowledge of automotive electrical wiring, plumbing, and limited fabrication
• Strong understanding of body panel assembly, trim fitment, and interior alignment
• Positive attitude, strong organization skills, efficiency, and problem-solving ability
• High level of self-initiative and attention to detail

Education, Qualifications, and Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1–2-year Automotive Technical Degree or related field preferred
• Driver's License:
• Class D (Non-commercial)
• Ability to lift 25 lbs continuously
• Employees must supply a complete set of automotive mechanic hand tools for each department working in

Compensation/Benefits:

• Duration/Hours: Full-Time Position, 40 Hours/week minimum. Four-and-a-half-day work week.
