Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Truck and Trailer Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background and experience in the repair and maintenance of trailers and related equipment. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Light Duty Truck and Trailer Technician will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment meets safety standards.

Duties

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on trucks and trailers, including oil change, filters, checking lights, tires, replacing and repairing light components, and performing operations checks.
  • Replaces worn or broken parts, adjusts brakes and completes bearing service and endplay adjustments.
  • Completes pre-delivery inspections for untiity trailers being prepped for sale.
  • Installs equipement, including hitches, truck bodies, brake controllers, and trailer components.
  • Troubleshoots equipment or components to diagnosis concerns.
  • Helps estimate time and material costs on repairs
  • Develops or obtains requisitions for new parts and equipment.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for assembly and repair tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure the timely completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Experience

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with diesel engine repair, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, tire service, and soldering is a plus.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for various tasks.
  • A commitment to safety protocols in a workshop environment is essential.

Requirements

  • Must have own tools to perform the maintenance and repair work.
  • Minimum 1 year experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • NYS inspectors license perferred but not required.
  • Be able to lift up to 50 lbs., frequesntly stand, stoop, kneel, crawl, walk, use of fine maniplation skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
