Examination Date

Responsibilities
Protects public health, safety, private property and investment by inspecting installations, repairs, alterations, construction or demolition to new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with construction codes.? These inspections range from single family residences to high rise office buildings, schools, hospitals and manufacturing plants.? Must use communication skills with contractors, violators and complainants to achieve code compliance and if necessary, serves as an expert witness for prosecution of code violators.

Minimum Qualifications
Education

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

General Requirements

Applicants who do not have a current full State of Ohio Building Inspector Certification at time of appointment must obtain said Certification, pursuant to Ohio Building Code Section , prior to the end of their 2 year interim certification.

Special Requirements

Must hold either an interim or full State of Ohio Building Inspector Certification?at time of application.
