Children's Wisconsin just received our 5th consecutive magnet designation

We are seeking new team members who are passionate about pediatric nursing and intrigued by the variety of learning opportunities that result from floating.

Clinical Resource Unit-

The Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) is our internal float team. It consists of direct care staff who works on the various inpatient units.   Nurses assigned to Critical Care CRU float to all the ICU's and the EDTC.-

CRU nurses earn shift differentials, night shift bonus pay and float differential

Successful float nurses are collaborative, positive, and eager for clinical learning development. Our CRU seeks new team members who are motivated to support our unit teams to provide best and safest care to kids.

We have a variety of schedule options full (.9) and part time (.6)-

12 hour night shifts

8 hour night shifts

8 hour PM shifts

All schedules include every 3rd weekend rotation.

All new team members will be required to do full time orientation for 6 months which could be on any shift based on preceptor assignments.

Targeting start dates in December January and February.

We prefer nurses with 1 year critical care hospital RN experience but will also consider new grads who have had 1 year of critical care cna or tech hospital experience outside of school. Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities include being a partner in the care management team, providing coordination and management of patient care to pediatric patients and families within a continuum of care and delegating patient activities as appropriate within a care management assignment. ,

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience).  A BSN is preferred.
  • A license to practice professional nursing in the State of Wisconsin
  • Current CPR certification – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.  PALS is required within one year.
