Sugar Ray's Bake Shop in Plano, Texas is looking for a part time or full time Baker as well as cake/cookie decorator to join our growing business We are a from-scratch and boutique bakery that specializes in custom cakes, gourmet cupcakes, french macarons, frosted sugar cookies, and so much more Sugar Ray's Bake Shop is looking for someone highly motivated, well organized, creative, a team player, and passionate about all aspects involved in baking and pastry. All candidates must have an extreme level of attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a team in a fast paced environment. Candidates must be willing to be coached and learn in order to adapt to needs of the bakery.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Baking daily pars of cakes, cupcakes and counter items

-Assist in Decorating custom cakes

-Prepare royal icing, flood and detail frosted sugar cookies

-Icing, decorating, and garnishing all cupcakes or counter items

-Complete all orders specified for that day

-Assisting with front of house duties that include: greeting and assisting guests, maintaining the appearance of the counter and guest area, building boxes, handling money, and taking custom orders

-Ensuring cleanliness of the kitchen

-Ingredient inventory

-Preparing, baking, and decorating cakes, pies, cookies, french macarons, etc.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent

-Previous experience working in a bakery or pastry kitchen is required

-Diploma or certification in baking and pastry is a plus

-Strong problem solving skills

-Highly reliable and responsible

-Ability to work well under pressure

-Focus on guest needs and remaining courteous at all times

Physical Demand:

-Constant standing or walking throughout shift

-Occasional lifting and carrying inventory items up to 50 lbs
