Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing your clinical skills and expertise to support patient well-being and recovery. The STNA will be responsible for assisting with daily patient needs, ensuring safety, and maintaining accurate medical documentation in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.

Duties

  • Provide direct patient care including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and patient safety.
  • Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and behavioral health management.
  • Perform basic medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques as required by the clinical setting.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, post-acute care, and other specialized units such as PICU or Level I Trauma Centers.
  • Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and practicing proper hand hygiene.
  • Assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure comfort during procedures or mobility activities.
  • Document all patient interactions thoroughly in medical records ensuring compliance with medical terminology standards.

Requirements

  • Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant certification (STNA).
  • Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, trauma centers), nursing homes, hospice care, behavioral health facilities, or home & community care settings.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages including pediatrics and geriatrics; experience with children is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
  • Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental disabilities is desirable.
  • Skills in medication administration, catheter care, vital signs monitoring, and infection control techniques required.
  • Excellent communication skills and compassionate caregiving attitude are essential for success in this role. This position is integral to delivering compassionate patient-centered care across multiple healthcare settings while fostering a safe and supportive environment for patients and staff alike.

Pay: $ $21.00 per hour
