Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Retail Clerk for our Liquor Store. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a strong understanding of retail operations. This role involves assisting customers with their purchases, managing inventory, and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. A successful Retail Clerk will be knowledgeable about our products and capable of upselling items to enhance customer satisfaction.

Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting them with product selections.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and processing credit card payments.
  • Maintain an organized and well-stocked sales floor through effective merchandising and stocking practices.
  • Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about new items or promotions.
  • Supervise junior staff members, ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures.
  • Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products during customer interactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the store environment to enhance the shopping experience.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills while handling phone inquiries and assisting customers both in-person and over the phone.

Experience

  • Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills is essential for accurate transactions.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership capabilities within a retail setting.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as this can enhance communication with diverse customers.
  • Knowledge of merchandising techniques and effective product placement strategies is beneficial.
