A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist to join their front-desk team. This role is ideal for candidates with strong communication and organizational skills who are passionate about delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Assist patients with portal account setup and provide guidance on online tools.

  • Answer and route phone calls, addressing patient inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Complete insurance verification, explain coverage details, and review out-of-pocket costs with patients.

  • Collect, post, and reconcile payments while maintaining and balancing a daily cash drawer.

  • Review patient balances, discuss payment plans, and process sliding fee discount applications when applicable.

  • Schedule follow-up appointments, update provider schedules throughout the day, and contact no-show patients to reschedule visits.

  • Support other administrative tasks and perform additional duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth front-office operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

  • MediClear or equivalent credential required. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with both patients and staff.

  • Experience in patient registration, billing, coding, or insurance claims is a plus.

  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance programs preferred.

  • Proficiency in data entry, typing, and basic computer skills is desirable.

  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
