This is a Direct Hire Opportunity with the Client - onsite in Franklin County, VT.

As a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) Programmer, you will be responsible for operating and programming Coordinate Measuring Machines to ensure accurate and precise measurement of parts and components. Your role will involve utilizing CAD (Computer-Aided Design) models, blueprints, and other technical specifications to create measurement programs, perform inspections, and analyze measurement data. Attention to detail, proficiency in metrology techniques, and strong programming skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:


• Develop CMM programs using metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar.


• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications to create measurement programs.


• Optimize programs for efficient inspection processes while ensuring accuracy and repeatability.


• Conduct dimensional inspections of parts, assemblies and components using various types of inspection equipment.


• Set up fixtures, probes and measurement tools according to inspection requirements.


• Execute measurement routines to accurately capture geometric features and tolerances.


• Analyze measurement data to determine conformance to engineering specifications and quality standards.


• Generate comprehensive inspection reports detailing measurement results and deviations.


• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any non-conformities and implement corrective actions.


• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CMM machines to ensure accuracy and repeatability.


• Keep detailed records of measurement programs, inspection results and equipment maintenance activities.


• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend enhancements to measurement procedures.


• Adhere to quality management systems and compliance standards relevant to the industry (ISO 9001)


• Adheres to all employment policies/safety policies/practices required by law/established by Company.


• Wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment always directed by the Company.


• Demonstrates complete understanding of firearms safety.


• Maintains and keeps workstation and department area clean.


• Demonstrates a positive attitude toward co-workers, other departments, and the Company.


• Communicates clearly and effectively with co-workers and management.


• Actively participate and support the 5S process within the work area daily.

Qualifications & Knowledge Required:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred.


• Proven experience in CMM programming and operation within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.


• Strong knowledge of metrology software such as PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar.


• Proficiency in metrology, geometric dimensions and tolerancing (GD&T) and statistical analysis techniques.


• Familiar with CAD/CAM software for model-based inspection.


• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.


• Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
