SUMMARY

Performs a variety of routine clerical accounting functions in accordance with standard procedures. Examples include examining, verifying and/or correcting accounting transactions to ensure completeness. Reconciles bank accounts, posts and balances general or subsidiary ledgers, processes payments and compiles segments of monthly closings, invoices, etc. Works under general supervision. Completed work and methods are reviewed for technical accuracy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform one or more standardized accounting procedures to include examining, verifying and/or correcting accounting transactions; ensuring that expenditures do not exceed obligation in specified accounts; totaling, balancing and recording collection accounts and items to be posted; and coding documents in accordance with a chart of accounts. Review general ledger accounts and other various computer printouts against manually maintained journals, detecting and correcting erroneous postings. Prepare documents to adjust accounting classifications and other data. Review lists of transactions rejected by an automated system and determines reasons for rejection and prepares the necessary material for correction. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Satisfactory performance reviews. Strong communication skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task. High school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of related experience.
