Bus Driver

The Lakes of Paducah is looking for an individual who loves working with senior adults to join our team as a bus driver for our residents. This position would be a part-time position and would involve working 3 five hour days per week during the week. Being willing to also be on call for a few hours a week if needed would be a plus. This position does not require a CDL, but does require a clean driving record, the ability to pass a drug screen, and background check. The Lakes of Paducah is part of Arcadia Communities, Inc.

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose is to provide transportation of residents to and from appointments in accordance with the mission, established policies, procedures and guidelines of The Lakes of Paducah. To ensure and maintain safe transportation for seniors of The Lakes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Drive company van as needed to transport residents to and from appointments.

2. Secure residents on van in wheelchairs per safety regulations and guidelines as needed.

3. Operate the lift on van per safety regulations and guidelines.

4. Performs inspection/safety checks on van and oversee/schedule repairs, oil changes, tire replacement as needed.

5. Responsible for cleaning bus and maintaining clean standard.

6. Secure all objects on bus such as walkers, umbrellas, trash can, fire extinguisher so they are not flying objects in case of sudden stop.

7. Will not use telephone while operating the vehicle.

8. Will work closely with the concierge who schedules appointments for planning purposes and ensuring residents are on time for appointments.

9. Will make sure each resident transported has a current emergency packet in the van for emergency purposes.

10. Driver will make sure there is a current first aid kit, no expired items.

11. Driver will make sure the fire extinguisher is inspected timely with verified signature.

12. Driver will maintain a tool on bus to cut seatbelts and break glass in event of emergency.

13. Work with all staff and Managers in a positive and professional manner.

14. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.

15. Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.

11 Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergency procedures.

1. Attend scheduled in-service meetings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Regularly required to listen and speak clearly.

· Continuous Standing, using hands, reaching, climbing and balancing.

· Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold.

· Good vision required.

· Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depth of 2 ½ -3 feet

· Must be able to work irregular hours under pressure and stress.

· Must have high level of mobility/flexibility in space provided.

· Be able to lift weight up to approximately 25 lbs. on a regular basis (heavy work).'
