We are looking for a Mascot Assistants to join our team Mascot Assistants have the opportunity to see the entertainment side of sports marketing firsthand. Assistants will work directly with the San Antonio Spurs (NBA) franchise, deal with off-site contacts and the implementation of the mascot's performance. Assistants will serve as the voice for the mascots, represent the organization during community events and help to facilitate elements of entertainment on behalf of the mascot. The Mascot Assistant may also be required to assist with games and perform as costumed characters.
What You'll Do:
- Assist mascots during appearances and games throughout San Antonio, Austin and the surrounding South Texas areas.
- Provide a high level of customer service to internal and external customers, event coordinators and fans.
- Assist with event preparation duties, such as but not limited to, finalizing event logistics, and set up/break down of supplies and props.
- Assist mascots with creative performance planning and execution for San Antonio Spurs & Austin Spurs events and games.
- Additional related duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
- A flexible schedule; including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to pass a background check
- Communicates effectively in front of large groups and children
- Must have reliable forms of communication (i.e. cell phone and email)
- Is outgoing and resourceful
- Self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated
- Detail oriented
- Entertainment experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for a long period of time.
- Must be able to hold 25 pounds for an extended period
