Paid Internship Opportunity: Social Media + Merchandising Assistant

We're looking for a motivated student intern to join our small but mighty team This position offers a very unique hands-on learning experience supporting our social media management and shop operations, all within a historic property currently being redeveloped into a vibrant community space.

Our work centers on adaptive reuse, sustainability, and the preservation of local histories.

This hybrid role blends digital marketing with in-person retail and event support. You'll help shape our online presence, engage with the community, and assist in the daily operations of a truly one-of-a-kind project. For the right candidate,
there may be opportunities for long-term or expanded roles after the 12-week internship program.

Responsibilities

Social Media & Marketing

  • Develop, schedule, and publish content across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
  • Create engaging photo, video, and written content that reflects our brand voice and mission
  • Monitor analytics, track engagement, and adjust strategies to grow reach and sales
  • Respond to messages, comments, and inquiries with warmth and professionalism
  • Support marketing campaigns, community events, and seasonal promotions

Shop & Customer Service

  • Welcome and assist customers in the Shop + Refillery
  • Handle sales transactions and returns using our POS system
  • Keep displays tidy, inviting, and well-stocked
  • Assist with inventory, merchandising, and restocking
  • Support workshops, pop-ups, and special events as needed

Please note: Our space includes a
cremation-only cemetery

(no actual cadavers or mortuary work) as part of our ongoing work in reimagining memorial spaces. If that's outside your comfort zone, this may not be the right fit.

Compensation

: 

$125 weekly stipend for roughly 10 hours of work (8-12)

Additional hours available

Adjusted compensation on all offers made after the completion of the internship program.

About the Internship

Interns will also have the opportunity to assist in developing outreach programs, creating marketing materials, evaluating products and merchandising options, advancing sustainability initiatives, and envisioning new community service efforts.
