Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will support a diverse range of legal practices, including estate planning, family law, and litigation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment, providing essential administrative and research support to attorneys and clients alike. The Paralegal will be instrumental in managing legal documents, conducting research, and ensuring efficient case management across multiple practice areas.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support ongoing cases and projects.
- Assist attorneys with document review, drafting legal documents, contracts, pleadings, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail.
- Manage case files using document management systems, ensure all files are organized and up-to-date.
- Support litigation processes by preparing discovery documents, filing court documents electronically or physically, and maintaining case calendars.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records for legal cases involving estate planning, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and other practice areas.
- Assist in preparing summaries for attorneys.
- Assist with document management tasks such as transcription, proofreading, filing, and organizing legal files for efficient retrieval.
- Support attorneys in project management tasks related to ongoing cases or legal initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with familiarity across multiple practice areas including estate planning, family law, litigation, and workers' compensation law.
- Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; proofreading accuracy is essential.
- Ability to perform data entry accurately while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong clerical skills including filing, document management, transcription, and administrative support tasks.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette.
- Knowledge of various legal practice areas such as landord-tenant law, family law, personal injury law etc., is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a law office setting with a focus on legal research and administrative functions is preferred.
