Job Summary:

To plan, organize, implement, and evaluate appropriate food programs within the area of assignment that guide and encourage students to enjoy good healthy food groups.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma

Minimum Experience:

  • Working with student 1-2 years

Required Licensure: N/A

Essential Functions:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver Breakfast and Lunch
  • Establish expectations for students
  • Review and evaluate student breakfast and lunch to determine and align best practices in order to remediate, extend or enrich student health
  • Collaborate with other DBTHS staff members to identify and address challenges of individual or small groups of students
  • Maintain and submit, in timely fashion, accurate management records
  • Provide guidance and advice to students on good and healthy food groups, further education, and career opportunities
  • Implement PBIS
  • Initiate, on a regular basis, positive interaction with parents or guardians of students

Other Responsibilities:

  • Promote and assist, as needed, student use of cafeteria
  • Attend and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance pedagogy and increase knowledge in food service area
  • Plan, implement and complete all food service forms
  • Participate in Teacher Evaluation System and classroom observations

Physical

Requirements:

  • Stand, sit and walk on a frequent basis over an 5-hour period. Work can be modified to be performed in a sit or stand only basis during the workday.
  • Fine motor skills required for use in pincher grasp and typing.

Working

Conditions:

  • Work is generally indoors in a school setting.
