Overview
This role involves developing software solutions for a Dept of Veterans Affairs program, requiring experience in analyzing customer needs, designing system architecture, and implementing applications using Delphi. The position demands a strong understanding of service orientation concepts, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycle stages, including testing, deployment, and support. The successful candidate will collaborate both independently and within a team setting to ensure solutions consider current architecture and future enhancements.

Education & Certification Requirements
A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or another engineering or technical discipline is required. Candidates with 8 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for a formal degree.

Clearance Requirements
Public Trust clearance required.

This role is a remote opportunity.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer needs and develop overall system design objectives.
  • Create software in Delphi and other programming languages for IT applications.
  • Evaluate current environment and develop solutions aligned with existing architecture and future requirements.
  • Participate in Agile development processes, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • React to and correct coding issues proactively.
  • Incorporate additional qualifications such as experience with MUMPS, VistA, CI/CD tools like Jenkins, and AWS technologies when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Delphi, system architecture, and Agile methodologies.
  • 8 years of software development experience, including design, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Ability to obtain VA Medium-Background Investigation clearance.
  • Proven ability to develop logical, functional software code and articulate benefits and risks of different coding languages and environments.
  • Strong problem-reacting skills and experience managing code quality.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with MUMPS and VistA systems.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies.
